Secrets of the golf swing

from:

As a golfer, your golf swing may be something you have worked on to improve your entire golf career. If you are a beginner, there are golf swing basics that you will need to understand and master before you can become a successful golfer. Learning and working on golf swing mechanics will improve your game more than expensive new golf equipment.

While many golfers find working with a golf professional for lessons is the best way to improve their swing, but by understanding some golf swing basics, you can work out some of your swing troubles on your own. The golf swing can be a complicated process, but some quick tips will help you learn a few fundamentals that will have you swinging better in no time. Remember, working on your golf swing while trying to play a round is not a good idea. The best place to improve your golf swing is on the practice range.

• An important part of the golf swing is your set up and stance, before you ever start swinging the club. To improve your golf swing, concentrate on getting the perfect stance, with correct placement of your feet, ball, and body.
• Another important concept when it comes to the golf swing is swing speed. You need to keep a consistent swing speed throughout your entire swing. This is known as good swing rhythm.
• A faster swing speed means more power in your golf swing.
• Remember that it is your body that does the swinging of the golf club. When working on your golf swing, it is not your wrists, hands, arms, hips, or shoulders that you should worry about, but concentrate on coordinating the movement of your body as a whole.
• If you want to achieve a more powerful golf swing, work on the flexibility, balance, and stability of your body.
• To improve your golf swing for each round of golf, try doing some simple stretches before starting play.
• Your golf swing should be basically the same for each club in your bag, including your driver, woods, wedges, and irons. Your swing does not change with each different club, your ball position and stance is what will change.
• If you find that you are losing balance during your golf swing, you are doing something wrong and will need to make adjustments. Remember that starting with a solid and balanced foundation at swing set up is the best key for a good golf swing.
• For extra help with improving your golf swing, check out some golf swing training aids to use during practice. These training aids can easily be found at golf outlet stores or online.
